Glimmer of hope

It's been a very long week since my last post. For whatever reason, I could not bring myself to type the reason I was praying for a miracle when I wrote that post. And it's still hard to do now, but the reason I needed a miracle was because Dr. Rice didn't think Lawson was strong enough to survive the surgery and without his lung getting better with the current treatment, there was no other choice. I know God has heard our prayers! Lawson's lung has made amazing gains over the past few days! It's not perfectly healthy and we're not out of the woods yet, but it looks like he won't need the surgery right now. Our meeting with the doctors is tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. Please keep the prayers coming!

  1. Mitzi, Lawson has been on my mind and in my prayers continually this week. I am so glad there is an improvement. You and Bryan are such a living testimony. We love you all VERY much. Lawson will have a perfectly healthy lung one day--I honestly feel this, and what an amazing story he will have to look back on. Keep your faith and know that with God all things are possilbe.

  6. Mitzi...you and your entire family are always in my prayers. The always mysterious "they" always say God works in mysterious ways. For me, dealing with my Dad's illness and death 10 years before I expected it has presented a MAJOR challenge to my emotional understanding of life. I have NO FRIKKIN' idea how much harder this is for any parent, particularly the parent of a very new and very innocent child.

All of my prayers, wishes, and spiritual energy are directed to the Leverings! What a special gift Lawson is to you all...and what a special gift you all are to him.

  9. Hi Mitzi. I don't know if you remember me - but I met you last summer in Mt. Airy with Sam. Ever since we found out about Little Lawson I have been reading your blog. Just wanted to let you know that you now have a army of people here praying for him and for your family.
