It's time

The meeting went as expected today. Lawson will undergo surgery on Wednesday at 10am. The entire procedure is expected to take about 5 hours, with the actual surgery taking 3 - 4 hours. The CT scan he had this morning showed that the lung is much more damaged than the x-rays make it appear to be. It is unclear exactly what will need to be removed until the surgeons have a chance to see if there is any viable tissue left. Since it is a very risky procedure and the outcome is unknown, they have agreed to 'bend' the rules and let Lacey come back to meet her baby brother tomorrow. (There has been a flu restriction since he was born and only parents and grandparents are allowed to visit.) When I told Lacey this evening that tomorrow was the 'big day' for her to finally meet her brother she squealed and almost jumped out of her car seat! She's been waiting for this day for a very long time! (She doesn't know about the surgery, just that it's finally 'time' to meet Lawson.) My best friend, Danielle, is on the way and will be here with me and my family during the surgery. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

  3. Mitzi:..I don't know really what to say to you and your family now..All we can do is to pray harder than we ever have for Lawson and for God to be in the Surgery with him and to give the Dr's the knowledge and wisdom that they need to do the right thing. We have our Bible Study today and we will all remember you all. I look at his little smile on the picture and in my heart I just know wthat God will take care of him...Love to you all...Friend of H.H.S...Sue & Ralph Kiser....

  19. Mitzi and family,
I have been following this blog and I work with Tracy and have kept up with all the process and ups and downs your family has been through. I know your mom and know of you. I have been praying every moment of the day for Lawson. The thought I have for you to hold on to when Lawson is in surgery Wednesday is to remember "ALL IS WELL WHEN GOD IS IN THE PICTURE". I have been blessed with a miracle in my health during my life and I know there are many more miracles forthcoming and FAITH pulls us through all the trials that we have to face everyday. Sometime all we can do is turn everything over to the lord and believe. Prayer will pull you through all these hard times. Believe and claim your miracle.
    Blessings to you and yours,
    Shonda Mitchell

  26. Mitzi,
Words escape me right now. We want you to know how much you and your family mean to us. We'll be praying extra hard tomorrow for all involved in Lawson's surgery. Keep the faith even if it is only the size of a "mustard seed". Mountains can be moved by it. I know your faith is deeper than that along with all of the people praying for your little miracle. We love you all so much. God has his hand on Lawson. YOU AND YOURS ARE VERY LOVED. Rita & Leslie Miller

  27. Genesis 22:14's circumstances are different but God's character in all things shines forth! God, tomorrow invites the Leverings to that special mountain of His regarded in(Genesis 14:22) so that once again His faithful ones in trust and prayer witness the power of His providing.
-And you will surely be Blessed! How Blessed it must have been to see the joy on Lacey's face as she beheld her brother for the first time after the patience she at her tender age has endured waiting for the proper time to see Lawson.
All the prayers and persons are in place and Romans 8:28's results will occur. God Is Love and God Loves the Levering Family.
    Prayers abound!
    Love, Jackie Scott
